You don't need a research report for this — you already know your own numbers. Take a rough average job value for your business, and a rough guess at how many calls go unanswered in a typical week. Multiply the two, and you've got a real, honest estimate of what a "quiet" week is actually costing you.
For example: a business with an average job value of $2,500 that misses just three calls a week, and converts even one in four of the calls it does answer, is looking at something in the range of $30,000–$40,000 a year in jobs that simply never got picked up.

Why voicemail doesn't fix it
Voicemail feels like a safety net, but most callers treat it as a dead end. If someone's calling a contractor because they have a leak, a broken panel, or a job that needs to start this week, "leave a message and we'll call you back" often just means they've already moved on to whoever answers next.
The fix isn't always "hire someone"
